Desire Ugochi Oparanozie, the renowned Super Falcons striker, has made a significant announcement at the age of 29 by retiring from both international and club football.

In a heartfelt post shared on her X account (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, she expressed her gratitude, saying, “To my fans, family, and friends, thank you for the tremendous love and unwavering support throughout my career. It’s time for me to gracefully exit the stage, as I believe there’s no better moment than the present. I hereby declare my retirement from professional football, both at the club and international levels.”

She went on to extend her appreciation to all the teams, coaches, teammates, and opponents she encountered during her remarkable journey, concluding with a touching farewell: “To every team and coach I’ve had the privilege to play for, to every teammate who shared the pitch with me, and to every adversary I’ve faced, I extend my heartfelt gratitude.
