Analysis Of The N81 Billion Expended By NDDC ‘Fainting’ Chairman Between January And May 2020
Nigerians were outrightly displeased and became furious after a declaration was made regarding the huge sum of 81 billion Naira that was spent by the chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) without embarking on any meaningful project in the concerned region.
Recall that GQBuzz.com earlier reported the ‘fainting’ of the NDDC chairman, Prof. Kemebradikumo Pondei, when he was questioned on the misappropriation of the funds allocated for the undertaking of projects by his office.
Here is the breakdown of the allocated funds that was lavishly spent by the chairman and his cohorts
- Covid-19: N31.4 billion
- Imprest: N790.9 million
- Duty Travel Allowance: N486 million
- Consultancy: N83 million
- Condolences: N122.9 million
- Community Relations: N1.3 billion
- Overseas Travel: N85.6 million
- Maintenance: N220 million
- Legal Services: N900 million
- Lassa Fever: N1.956 billion
- Security: N744 million
- Staffing Related Payment: N8.8 billion
- Stakeholders Engagement (Feb 18 – May 31, 2020): N248 million
