Chelsea U23 Avoid Premier League 2 Relegation Scare
It has been a season to forget for Chelsea’s U23 side: Andy Myers’s team has been fighting against relegation from Premier League 2 pretty much for the whole campaign.
Before the last game against Tottenham, the Blues were in the relegation area, two points behind Leeds – so they only needed a win.
Chelsea took the game seriously, involving Malang Sarr and Trevoh Chalobah who played 90 minutes. It was not an easy ride, with Tottenham taking a lead in the second half and holding on to it until the final 10 minutes.
However, Chelsea went for it and were rewarded. Dion Joseph Rankine and Joe Haigh delivered a 2-1 victory.
It means that Chelsea will remain in the top-flight of the development league, with Leeds relegated to the second tier instead.
