Cruel… Lioness Mauled By A Lion In Safari Park

A Lioness has lost its life after it was attacked by a lion at the safari park in Longleat Safari Park, Wiltshire, United Kingdom.

Due to its extensive collection of animals, Longleat Safari Park is a favorite destination for families in the UK.

Visitors can drive through enclosures to view various animals. On New Year’s Day, however, a section of the park was closed off to vehicles because of a “unknown major occurrence.”

This was caused by the death of a lioness, Longleat Safari Park said on their website.

The spokesperson said:
“‘This weekend (1st January 2023) saw one of the lionesses at Longleat sadly killed by another lion.”

“This kind of incident is very rare but can naturally occur amongst apex predators.”

“It happened incredibly quickly, with the lioness dying almost instantly.”

“Our professional keepers were immediately on the scene, however the timescales involved meant there was no possibility of intervention.”

“There was no risk to guests.”
