Eden Hazard Details Relationship With Man City Star Kevin De Bruyne
Real Madrid star Eden Hazard has described his international teammate Kevin De Bruyne as a ‘leader on the pitch’ while detailing his relationship with the Manchester City maestro.
Although City lost their grip of dominance on the Premier League title this season, it was De Bruyne who was crowned the PFA Player of the Year – the first City player to ever win the award.
The 29-year-old beat out teammate Raheem Sterling and Liverpool quartet Sadio Mane, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson to win the accolade.
It’s of little surprise after his fantastic league campaign, in which he scored 13 goals and tied Thierry Henry’s long-standing record for the most amount of assists in a season with 20.
Owed to his success, City has produced a documentary looking back at the making of De Bruyne and have interviewed some of his past and current teammates.
Former Chelsea man Hazard is De Bruyne’s teammate for the Belgian national side and the forward has explained what he is like on the pitch.
“If he’s not happy he will show it to you, ‘no you need to do it like this’ and also we need to accept it. As a striker or winger, Kevin is behind me, so sometimes he sees things that I don’t see.
“So if he tells me: ‘Eden go on the right, now go!’ I will do it. I just follow him. He is a leader on the pitch because of the position he is playing.
“Yeah we talk outside the pitch on the pitch, we talk a lot.”
