Empire Actor, Bryshere Gray Sentenced To Jail For Assaulting His Wife
After pleading guilty to felony aggravated assault for choking his wife until she passed out, American actor and Empire star Bryshere Gray has been sentenced to ten days in prison.
According to legal records acquired by TMZ, Gray, 27, who plays Hakeem Lyon on the Fox TV series, entered a guilty plea in his domestic abuse case.
Gray was arrested in July of last year on domestic violence accusations.
Gray refused to come outside when cops arrived at their home in Goodyear, Arizona, and barricaded himself inside the house overnight.
The woman had many obvious injuries on her body, according to police, and she said Gray strangled her until she blacked out at one point. Her injuries were not life threatening, but she was transported to the hospital and treated for them before being released, according to authorities.
