Five Policemen Detained For Extortion Fee From Student
Five Police officers accused of extortion of School fees from a student has been detained by the Oyo state Police command at Old Ogbomosho road, Oyo state.
The police officers confronted the student while he was traveling to Lagos. While the other passengers were asked to continue their trip, he was told to exit the van. He was reportedly taken to a neighboring bush where he was forced to pay N90,000.
The inquiry is still ongoing, according to Adewale Osifeso, spokeswoman for the state police command.
Osifeso declared:
“We have arrested and detained five policemen and we are waiting for Ibrahim to come and identify the policemen that allegedly extort the school fees from him.”
“Out of those detained, and for him to also help us initiate the prosecution procedure against those guys through an orderly room trial.”
“The money extorted from him has been recovered; we traced the operator and the endpoint of the account where the money was lodged. All that happened today.”
