Reports claim Morocco head coach Vahid Halilhodzic could be facing the sack soon, despite qualifying Morocco for the World Cup.
Halilhodzic had fallen out with some of Morocco’s best players, including Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech, Ajax ace Noussair Mazraoui and Marseille loanee Amine Harit.
According to Le360, Halilhodzic had been given till Monday to respond to Morocco’s FA proposal to reinstate the exiled trio – a move he isn’t keen on.
The report claims Halilhodzic could be sacked soon, and former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has emerged as one of the favourites for the job.
It’s yet to be seen if Morocco or Ziyech can cope under Villas-Boas.
Villas-Boas had to resign from his last three jobs as coach of Marseille, Shanghai SIPG and Zenit St Petersburg.
In last job as Marseille’s manager, he announced his resignation on 2 February 2021.
