History in The Making: Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ Makes The Billboard Hot 100; Debuts at No. 82
Superstar act Wizkid has hit a new milestone after his buzzing song ‘Essence’ off the ’Made in Lagos’ album became the first Nigerian song to make it to the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
This comes days after the song cracked the Billboard Bubbling Under Charts for the first time. This is a landslide achievement for Wizkid and Tems, who are both signed to the same label.
The song marks Wizkid’s third appearance on the charts, after ‘One Dance’ famously hit No. 1 in 2016.
