“I Dated My Husband For Ten Years Before Marriage And I Was Mocked For It” – Singer Mo’Cheddah (Video)

Modupe Oreoluwa Oyeyemi Ola, best known by her stage as Mo’Cheddah, is a Nigerian singer who dated her fiancé for ten years before they wed.

In an interview with Taymesan for his Tea With Tay podcast, where she discussed her job, marriage, and motherhood, the single mother of one made this confession.

Before she and her husband were married, Mo’Cheddah claimed that she had been called “Lord of the Rings” and made fun of for courting for ten years.

She claimed they began dating when she was 17 and were wed in a quiet ceremony ten years later.

“I started dating when I was 17. I met my husband through music, Osagie introduced us, though at that time, I didn’t want to date. They use to call me ‘Lord of the Rings’ because we dated for so long. That was my nickname at some point. When I got to know myself, I was happy in real life. That’s what my husband taught me. I didn’t need to show people that I was happy. Didn’t need their validation.” She said.

“I love my private life and I don’t share it. There was no phone at my wedding. We weren’t living together before we got married and we have been together for 10years.” She added.
