Lady dies in Abuja hotel three months after concluding NYSC

Promise Ekong, a young woman from the Cross River state’s Boki Local Government Area, passed away in a hotel in Abuja.

According to reports, Promise Ekong, who completed her one-year NYSC requirement in November 2022, passed away at the Stanzel Grand Resort on Fifth Avenue in Gwarimpa.

Promise allegedly drowned in the hotel’s swimming pool, according to the administration.

Her death is still surrounded by controversy, though, as the family suspects police misconduct.
