Minister Of Works David Umahi Says, As He Apologizes To Protesting Workers For Locking Them Out Over Lateness

Published

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has issued a public apology to the protesting workers who were locked out due to lateness. The workers had staged a demonstration in response to Umahi’s decision to bar them from entering the premises.

Chanting the slogan “Umahi Must Go,” the protesting staff voiced their concerns, asserting that many of them reside at a considerable distance from the workplace, making it challenging to arrive early.

A senior staff member elaborated on their predicament, explaining that some of them live in far-flung areas such as Gwagwalada, Keffi, Abaji, Kuje, Kwali, and satellite towns along the Kaduna Road. To mitigate transportation costs, they occasionally join colleagues who have cars.

Minister David Umahi’s apologized and acknowledged the difficulties faced by these workers and begged that the workers cooperate with her.
