Mykhailo Mudryk Sidelined for Chelsea’s Friday Match Against Luton, Joins Extensive Injury List
Chelsea face another injury setback as Mykhailo Mudryk is ruled out of Friday’s Premier League match against Luton Town.
The Ukrainian star adds to an already lengthy injury list that features players like Christopher Nkunku, Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka, Benoit Badiashile, Armando Broja, Trevoh Chalobah, and Marcus Bettinelli.
Chelsea’s official website revealed that Mudryk is beginning his recovery process after being evaluated for an injury he picked up during training this week.
Following a challenging performance in Chelsea’s 3-1 loss to West Ham, Mauricio Pochettino had to back Mudryk.
Pochettino is optimistic about the £88.5m acquisition, believing he will prove his worth.
When questioned about Mudryk’s recent struggles and his views on the player’s performance, Pochettino said,
“He needs a mindset more geared towards scoring. He got 45 minutes on the pitch; he needs consistency. Primarily, he has to foster this consistency and confidence through weekly trainings.
He’s a young talent, and we need to place our trust in him to build a solid bond with the team and us.”
