NDLEA Reveals What They Will Do To Naira Marley If He’s Caught With Illicit Drugs
The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has emphasized that, regardless of the collaboration, Naira Marley will face legal consequences if caught with illicit drugs.
This statement reaffirms NDLEA’s dedication to its responsibilities and underscores the principle of equal justice before the law.
The Director, Media and Advocacy for the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a chat with Punch Newspaper.
He said, “It is an advocacy engagement with him. It’s what we do as part of the responsibilities of the agency to promote advocacy messages that would discourage people from substance ab¥s£. It is about the message.
“Don’t forget that he has a lot of young followers— Marlians— that look up to him. The idea is for the leader of the movement (Marlians) to come out and ask people to stop substance ab¥s£, and live a new life.”
He added, “Last year, we arrested some of his artists (Zinoleesky and Mohbad). That is to show that we are not closing our eyes. If the same Naira Marley is caught with illicit s¥bstanc£s tomorrow, he will face sanctions.”
GQBUZZ recalls that the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently announced its collaboration with music artist Naira Marley in an effort to curb drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking in the country.
The decision to partner with him aims to harness his reach and impact to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and illicit drug trade on individuals and society at large.
This collaborative effort is a testament to the agency’s innovative approach to addressing complex challenges.
