Nigeria will put a total of 91 people who just returned through land borders under quarantine as a precaution against the COVID-19 which continues to spread.

Speaking at a press conference organised by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja on Wednesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama said 67 persons had already arrived at the country’s land border before adding that 24 more would arrive today (Thursday).

Before they can be allowed to leave for their different destinations in the country, they would all be isolated for 14 days and watched for possible coronavirus symptoms.

In a statement later issued on Wednesday, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) confirmed that the 67 Nigerians had arrived at the Seme border in Lagos State.

Sunday James, the NIS Public Relations Officer also revealed that 58 of the returnees were from Osun State.
