Police And Armed Robber Engage in Gun Battle Outside Taylor Swift’s $18m New York Townhouse (Photo)
Taylor Swift’s multi-million-pound townhouse was just yards from an armed robbery in which shots were fired.
The 30-year-old award-winning singer has invested $50 million on apartments on the block including $18 million on a townhouse in the swanky Tribeca area of New York.
New York Post has reported that police have said that four shots were fired during an armed robbery at Patron of New York, a store that is next to Taylor’s imposing townhouse.
It is thought to be the second shooting of its kind in the past month.
The store on Franklin Street was targeted just after 5 pm on Sunday, with police reportedly recovering several shell casings from the scene of the robbery
Police have said that no-one was hit despite four bullets being fired.
Speaking to New York Post, a waiter at the nearby amarind Tribeca restaurant on Hudson Street said: “Suddenly we heard four shots and I was freaked out.
“I saw people at the scene run. They look scared and jumped into a car.”
Another local, a resident in the area told the publication about their worry that this was the second shooting in as many weeks.
They said: “It’s really concerning to see two gun-related crimes happen at the same place within a month.”
Police have said that three suspects fled the scene, heading eastwards.
They said that two of the suspects were wearing blue jeans and white t-shirts while the other had blue jeans with a blue t-shirt.
Taylor reportedly bought the townhouse in 2017 also bought three apartments in the neighbouring building as she took her investment to $50 million in the area.
Last year, the singer won a lawsuit against a real estate agent who claimed that she owed him more than $1 million in fees for helping make the purchases for her.
