The White House has released the income and tax return sheets of the US President Joe Biden, his wife Jill Biden, Vice President, Kamala Harris and her husband.

The tax returns published on Friday, April 15, show the Bidens earned $610,000 in 2021 while Kamala Harris and her husband raked in more than $1.6 million .

The documents show that from Biden and Jill’s $610,702 earnings during their first full year in the White House they paid $150,439 in federal income taxes – at an effective tax rate of 24.6 percent for 2021, well over the average of about 14 percent.

The couple gave $17,394 to 10 different charities in 2021. The largest gift was $5,000 to the Beau Biden Foundation, a nonprofit that works to combat child abuse named after her son, Beau, who died of brain cancer in 2015 at age 46.

Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, released their 2021 tax filings, which showed they earned $1,655,563 in 2021 and paid  $523,371 – a federal income tax rate of 31.6 percent. 


Harris and Emhoff also paid $120,517 in California income tax and $2,044 in New York income tax.

The second gentleman, who teaches at Georgetown Law School, paid $54,441 in District of Columbia income tax, and the couple contributed $22,100 to charity in 2021.


Harris also made nearly $400,000 in profit from book sales. The second family sold their San Francisco home for $860,000, resulting in a long-term capital gain of $319,082.
