The Federal Government Alone Cannot Finance Universities – President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that the Federal Government alone can’t finance universities in Nigeria.

The president stated the private sector needs to get involved in financing universities in the country because the sole responsibility is too much for the government to bear.

Buhari who was represented by the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission NUC, Prof Abubakar Rasheed at the  2020 convocation and 72nd foundation day celebration of the University of Ibadan on Tuesday, urged private investors to start getting involved in partnering with the Federal government .

He also charged universities to come up with programmes that would help his government in reducing poverty and improving the health sector.
