Tory Lanez shouted ‘dance b—-’ at Megan Thee Stallion before shooting her in foot
New details of what happened on the night Tory Lanez allegedly shot Megan Thee Stallion in the foot after a party last summer, has emerged.
An LA cop testified on Tuesday December 14, that rapper Tory Lanez shouted, “Dance, bitch, dance!” at hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion before shooting the ground near her feet.
Los Angeles Police Detective (LAPD) detective Ryan Stogner said;
"[Megan] observed Mr. Peterson holding a firearm, and then she observed him start to shoot.
"Megan immediately felt pain to her feet, observed blood, fell to the ground, and then crawled to an adjacent driveway of a residence. … She described her injuries as bleeding profusely."
The detective also stated that Lanez, 29, apologized for shooting Megan and “offered her money and begged her to please not say anything,” according to Megan’s account. Megan also told the detective that Lanez made “a reference to the fact he was already on probation.”
Det. Stogner further disclosed that Megan initially claimed that she was injured after stepping on broken glass. She later admitted that it was a gun injury, claiming that she said it was glass because of the political climate and she was afraid cops might shoot Tory if she said there was a gun in the car.
Lanez, who was rumored to have been dating Stallion, was present in the courtroom listening to the testimony, Rolling Stone reported, adding that his attorney questioned the detective on whether he had asked Megan “how much she had to drink that day.”
The detective also relayed that Stallion recounted Lanez being intoxicated during the July 2020 incident, according to TMZ.
A recorded phone call which Tory made from jail to a woman who was also with Meg when the incident happened, was also played in court. Tory apologized on the call for something he did because he was too drunk. Tory got pissed in the courtroom, yelling out, “How you gonna tell me what I apologized for?” before his attorney told him to calm down.
Following the testimonies, the judge ruled the suspect must now stand trial in the case which will begin on January 13. The Canadian singer is now facing one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in a manner that caused great bodily injury, and one count of carrying a concealed, unregistered weapon.
In the wake of the shooting incident, Tory Lanez was charged in October 2020 with one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He pleaded not guilty to both charges in November 2020. He could face 22 years and eight months in prison if convicted of said charges.
Earlier this year, Megan named Lanez as an “abuser” in a set of tweets about the incident. She wrote;
"Y'all can't tell when s— fake news? Y'all still don't see an ABUSER picking with me ? The first court date got pushed back bc of the inauguration but I can't wait until the MF FACTS come out !
"Bitch you shot me AND MY STORY NOT CHANGING AND BITCH YOU GOING TO JAIL."
The rapper also named Lanez as the person who had shot her. She added “You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and s—. Stop lying,” she said, as captured by a fan’s account on Twitter. “Why lie? I don’t understand. I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you’re dragging it.”
