Ukraine Will decide When To Enter Discussions With Russia – Josep Borrell

Published

The chief diplomat of the European Union responded to rumors that the West would pressure Kyiv to begin talks with Moscow by saying that Ukraine must determine when to join dialogue with Russia.

“Ukraine will decide what to do. Our duty is to support them”, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said as he arrived for a meeting of the bloc’s foreign ministers in Brussels.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has charged Russian troops with war crimes and the murder of people in Kherson, which was partially retaken by the Ukrainian army last week after Russia withdrew.

“Investigators have already documented more than 400 Russian war crimes. Bodies of dead civilians and servicemen have been found,” Zelenskyy said in his nightly video address.

“The Russian army left behind the same savagery it did in other regions of the country it entered,” he said.

Russia denies its troops intentionally target civilians.
