Published

US Vice President, Mike Pence and second lady Karen Pence have both tested negative for coronavirus, his spokeswoman announced ON Saturday night.

“Pleased to report that the COVID-19 test results came back negative for both Vice President @Mike_Pence and Second Lady @KarenPence,” said Katie Miller, the press secretary for the vice president, via her Twitter account.

On Saturday afternoon, Pence announced that he and his wife would be tested after his staff member was diagnosed with coronavirus.

“Given the unique position that I have as vice president and as the leader of the White House coronavirus task force, both I and my wife will be tested for the coronavirus later this afternoon,” Pence said during a news conference at the White House.

The vice president had said the staffer, who did not have close contact with either the president or himself was doing well, but had “mild” cold-like symptoms for a day and a half, and has not been at the White House since Monday. Trump has already tested negative for the virus.

The United States currently has 26,892 cases of Coronavirus and 348 deaths. About 178 people have also recovered from the disease.
