Wizkid’s Mother, Mrs Balogun Is Dead

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, aka Wizkid, has suffered a heartbreaking loss of his mother, Mrs Jane Balogun.

She passed away at around 1.30 am on August 19, 2023, at the age of 60.

Wizkid’s manager, Sunday Are, confirmed the incident to journalists on Friday, saying; “Yes, she died this morning, at about 1.30 am.”

Fans have been thronging to social media platforms to condole the singer and his family since the news frittered on the internet.

Wizkid’s mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, was a significant influence in his life. She was born on November 4, 1960. She hailed from the Shitta area of Surulere in Lagos, Nigeria. Jane Balogun was a Christian and a supportive figure in Wizkid’s journey to stardom.

Wizkid’s journey to success was undoubtedly influenced by the values and principles instilled in him by his mother. Her encouragement and belief in his talents pushed him to pursue his dreams, eventually leading him to become a global music icon.
